Have y’all seen this website, Greatist, that my future sister-in-law just shared with me? Maybe I am the only one who hasn’t seen it yet? Maybe I am out of the loop? It bills itself as “your fitness, health, and happiness guide,” and it is pretty interesting to click around on.

One of my favorite pieces so far is their huge list of 80 Healthy Recipe Substitutions. Sure, some of them you’ve heard before, but some were new to me, or convenient reminders of things I hadn’t thought about in a while. I bookmarked it and will probably return often, and maybe even print it for my recipe binders.

Another thing I liked on my first visit was the “infographic” below called “The Complete Guide to Workout Nutrition.” Look, they give you a code at the bottom of their page so you can post it right on your blog! Now, I am not an expert on workout nutrition (duh, that is why I need an “infographic”), so I am not sure if this information is very advanced. But, it strikes me as pretty useful for people like me who would like to know more and enjoy finding the basic facts neatly and colorfully compiled in a graphic format. Sure, I don’t agree with everything they say, but I can take some of the recommendations with a grain of salt and implement the ideas that fit my beliefs and goals.

Greatist has sections on cardio, nutrition, recipes, sleep, tips, and working out, and larger headings for fitness, health, and happiness. It is not specifically plant-based or aligned with any particular way of eating, so it has a little something for everyone. Looks like they will also let you sign up to receive daily tips over email!

Wow -that is a great site! I took a look at the healthy substitutions list. I would never have thought of substituting black beans for flour in brownies – i wonder who the heck thought of experimenting with them?
